90 is Beautiful
[Great] Grandma turned 90 earlier this month. We were lucky to be with her on her special day. We consider ourselves lucky to be with her any sort of day! I was struck with how beautiful 90 years is. Grandma is the youngest of 11 from farmland South Dakota. She and Grandpa left farming and set roots in Southern California to raise their family, the youngest of which is my mom. Grandma has lived through so much change in her life since the 1920s, and she’s done it so gracefully always with lots of family and friends. I have a soft spot for family history…especially when it is connected to my own. Maybe I’ll tackle writing some of our family story some day. Happy Birthday again, Grandma. You inspire and amaze me. You’re fun, hard-working, generous, crafty, and astoundingly lucky in cards. 90 looks beautiful on you!

I really enjoyed reading this! You write so well and your pictures tell the story of the day. It was so wonderful to spend my day with you and the family. We are so blessed.
I do not feel comfortable with the compliments, but love you dearly for including me in this “chapter”.
Thank you so. Much Love!
I love you, grandma!
